Jamie Bernstein and Ted Chapin
Broadcaster, filmmaker, concert narrator, and Book Fair 2018 alum Jamie Bernstein travels extensively, speaking about music as well as about her father, Leonard Bernstein. In addition to writing her own scripts and narrations, Jamie writes articles and poetry, which have appeared in such publications as Symphony, DoubleTake, Town & Country, Gourmet, Opera News, and Musical America. Jamie’s film documentary, Crescendo: the Power of Music, is viewable on Amazon Prime and her most recent book, Famous Father Girl, is available at the Detroit Jewish Book Fair’s online store.
Long-time friend of Jamie’s, Ted Chapin, is president of Rodgers & Hammerstein, a position he has held for 30 years. He has spearheaded many a Broadway production during his tenure, including Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella, the first time the 1957 CBS television-commissioned show has been seen on Broadway, and in a newly adapted version. His father, Schuyler Chapin, was General Manager of the Metropolitan Opera and colleague and friend to Leonard Bernstein.
